PLUS Foundation In Action
The PLUS Foundation channels the resources and generosity of the professional liability industry directly into proven programs that serve society, the industry and the communities where we work and live. Here are some tangible examples:
- Bringing local chapters together for volunteer activities and community giving through our Chapter Charity Grants program, which has awarded more than $75,000 to over 30 charities in cities across North America.
- Sponsoring the popular, annual Conference Cause, which has generated more than $200,000 in donations and engaged 175+ volunteers in worthy causes.
- Looking out for our members and colleagues in times of need, including providing more than $300,000 in Disaster Relief after the 9/11 and Katrina tragedies.
- Promoting diversity and fostering new talent by facilitating nearly 100 placements through our Minority Intern Grant Program.
- Drawing students and professors to the professional liability field with Graduate Study Grants–partnering with the seven top insurance universities to fund education and research.
- Recognizing and fostering potential through Gilmartin and Financial Aid Scholarships, which have provided college funding for more than 50 children of PLUS members.
- Uniting members and recognizing success through Shots for Charity and the PLUS Foundation Leadership Award, which have raised more than $450,000 for the Foundation's mission.
- Putting $1.5 million to work in philanthropy, diversity and education–and raising public awareness of the benevolence and generosity of the professional liability community.
