Disaster Relief

When major disasters affect PLUS members and their families, the PLUS Foundation is there – providing emotional and financial support.

Hurricane Relief 2005: Following the devastation of Katrina, the PLUS Foundation mobilized resources to raise corporate and individual donations quickly, and to provide aid where it was needed most.

• $25,000 to PLUS members in disaster areas
• $30,000 to the Gilsbar Relief Fund – the largest employer of PLUS members in the gulf area
• $39,350 to the "Big I" Katrina Relief Fund

9/11 Victims Campaign: This was a call to action that forever shifted the Foundation's focus toward philanthropy, supporting members and their communities.

• Raised over $200,000 to support families of PLUS members lost in the tragedy
• Donated $5,000 each to the FDNY and NYPD
